I've had an outstanding experience thus far with Deacon Properties. From day one, their team has been professional, responsive, and genuinely attentive to my needs as a tenant. Whenever I've had a question or needed assistance, they were quick to respond and always provided clear, helpful answers.

The maintenance team is fantastic, handling any requests promptly and efficiently. It's clear that they prioritize keeping the property in great condition, and they go above and beyond to ensure that tenants feel comfortable and valued by securing the property safely.

I also appreciate the seamless communication with Trevor Nunez who is friendly, proactive, and always willing to listen. It’s rare to find a property management company that takes such pride in their work and truly cares about the people they serve. Highly recommend Deacon Properties to anyone looking for a well-managed, stress-free rental experience!

I have been with Deacon for 4 years and that is now at a close. I will start by saying Deacon isn’t the complete worst, but it certainly isn’t the best. Here are the positives:

* Good property in a good location
* Regular landscaping
* Brand new A/C units
* Brand new windows
* Washer/dryer in-unit
* Vendors they work with for maintenance are great

All that to say they are good *property managers*. That’s their speciality. They do not care about their tenants so here are some examples of what I’ve had to deal with:

* Took them 3 weeks to replace the malfunctioning water heater (the photo was the day I got my keys, literally not my towel)
* Took 4 weeks to properly replace a refrigerator that broke twice. All of my food spoiled both times and they didn’t offer even a small recompense.
* Refused to deal with nuisance neighbors for 8 months
* Ignored maintenance requests they apparently deemed insignificant (broken blinds, closet shelves not installed)

In my experience, Deacon only cares about money and appearances. Yes, their properties are manicured and well cared for. But the tenants? Different story. Complaints are ignored. Relationship building? Trust? Forget about it. I have never felt more disrespected and disregarded by people before.

They really couldn’t care less about your comfort or your legal right to peaceful enjoyment of the property. That was crystal clear when I had to fight tooth and nail to get a functioning refrigerator that actually fit in its designated space and didn’t smell like cigarettes. When I had to beg them to do something about the neighbor rapping (yes, rapping) at 4 AM. When I’m the one who provided dog waste bags because other tenants don’t clean up after their pets even after I’ve told Deacon (and the kicker? I don’t even have a pet of my own).

All in all, do not rent from them. They are a prime example of landlords that are greedy and willfully negligent. Save your money and time and look elsewhere. Good luck.

I have a small company and have been a vendor for Deacon Properties for a number of years. They are without a doubt the best property management company I have worked with since I opened my business.
The work order process is very professional, clear and concise, explaining in detail what they would like done to ensure that their tenants feel cozy, comfortable, happy, and safe in their new homey residence.
The billing and payment process goes smoothly as well, with every invoice getting paid within the terms time frame.
Every person I have spoken with at Deacon Property Management Co., from reception, the maintenance managers, and the accounting department and all others, I have consistently been treated with professional friendly respect.

I recently move into one of Deacon’s properties, throughout the application process I had been working with a gentlemen by the name of Sean. And I must say he has been absolutely amazing! Sean worked very hard throughout the application process, anything I asked for prior to the move-in he handled in a timely manner and there wasn’t an issue that he wasn’t able to address. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work with Sean, and look forward to being a part of their community!

I've had nothing but excellent service from Deacon Properties! My brother had to be put in a assisted living home and still had about 5 months left on lease with no chance of moving back. Stephanie, Trevor and Adelita were outstanding with how they handled the situation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services to anyone. I want to thank Kyle also for having such an outstanding staff who actually cares for their tenants. Thumbs up for the entire staff!

I have been with Deacon off and on for eight years. The service that they provide is amazing. Anytime I had an issue with maintenance they would come right over and fix. Kyle and his team is always there when you need them. I recently bought a home but my mom needed a new home to live. Brian and Trevor were so helpful in finding her a new home. Deacon definitely is who you want to rent from. Thank you again Deacon!!

I am a new tenant living in downtown Albq. I gave Deacon 5 stars because I was overall impressed with the company, standards they set, and my personal experience. The vintage type Casita that I live in currently meets all of my expectations and more.

Natalie, my assigned realtor, must be commended for her attempts to "meet me where I am" literally. I unfortunately came down with Covid on my moving day. Natalie actually came to give me the keys at the hospital ER where I was being tested and medically cared for. That to me showed compassion, and a frame of mind to go the distance and be of service to others.

My apt was immaculate as far as cleanliness is concerned, one never knows what one will get on move-in day. Neighbors are great, neighborhood is great--so I feel fortunate.

Do not rent with deacon. These people are slumlords. You have to BEG for them to fix anything. Since day 1 of living in one of their properties the dryer has not worked properly. The building constantly has power shortages, issues with plumbing, bugs, etc. I had an issue with the AC on one of the hottest days of the summer and they acted like it wasn’t a big deal. My poor cats were sitting in front of the vent once I finally got the AC running because it was 96 degrees in our house. Ended up fixing the issue myself. The only way I can get in contact with them is if I CC the owner on an email asking for help. Can’t wait to move out.
