AVOID RENTING FROM THEM AT ALL COSTS! We rented a property for one year with The Burgh Property Management. During this time, managerial staff consistently displayed negligence in handling basic maintenance repairs that were essential to daily living. First, they tried to blame us for a broken refrigerator by claiming that our negligence led it to stop working, even though it was a condenser issue and the refrigerator had been having issues since we moved in. They forced us to incur the "repair" charges that did not even fix the machine, but simply flipped the gasket, even though the condenser was the issue. For 6 months, we were living with a refrigerator that did not function, leaving us with moldy food, food born illness, and leakages. No matter how hard we tried to tell them, they kept denying there was a problem, leaving us in a completely helpless and powerless dilemma. Second, after a big hurricane came through, part of the ceiling in one of the bedrooms caved in, posing a living hazard. It took them over 3 weeks to even schedule someone to fix the ceiling even after we consistently called them asking for a repair. Dust and other dry wall particles made the room uninhabitable for the time being, and their lack of urgency in dealing with this matter caused us a severe inconvenience. Finally, they charged us for the banister falling out of the wall even though it was rudimentarily installed into dry wall with no studs. The banister fell out due to "normal wear and tear", which the lease agreement delineates that any incurred expenses from normal wear and tear repairs are covered by the company. However, the management staff does everything they can to stretch this ambiguous language to shirk financial responsibility for these types of normal damages and repairs. The lease agreement is worded so that the company has no accountability for anything that happens in the home and tenants are responsible for everything. The management staff is inept, negligent, unintelligent, unwilling to help, and unequipped to handle basic problems. I had to escalate multiple issues to the boss in order to get them addressed. If I could give this review 0 stars, I would. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
