He has always been nice. He is the best doctor I have ever had. He has been my doctor for about 15 years now. I will recommend him to anyone. His office staff are so nice and when I need to get a sample of something they are happy to help me whenever I needed it. Mathew Smith is a Doctor who cares about his patients and treats you family too. I appreciate you Dr. Smith.

My complaint about this medical office is the lack of care you receive from anyone besides Dr. Smith. The website states “same day appointments” available. However, if you get sick, I can guarantee you will NOT get an appointment. As a matter of fact, when trying to schedule an appointment we were transferred to the “nurse”. She kept telling us to go to the emergency room! A call was made to get in for a sick visit 3 days after symptoms began. Refused the appointment and told to go to ER. Despite three (3) phone calls in a week trying to get an appointment, it was impossible! After being detailed with the nurse, and explaining that his symptoms were NOT an emergency, we had already been seen by urgent care twice, tried getting an appointment with this office 3 times, and advised by urgent care to follow up with my husband’s PCP, she insisted we go to the ER. Reluctantly and knowing his illness was NOT a true emergency, we went to the ER. Well, lo and behold, we were RIGHT! We had to utilize ER resources when it was absolutely NOT necessary!! The ER doctor said to follow up with primary!! Around and around we go! I will call again today but I have serious doubts that an appointment will be made to be seen. This treatment by this office is absolutely unacceptable! No one can schedule a sick visit ahead of time! The same day appointment is not true as stated on this PCP’s website. So if you are looking for a PCP for only well visits, this is the place for you! But I highly advise to stay away from this PCP office due to the lack of care you will experience if you get sick! I truly hope Dr. Smith sees this review. We plan on making complaints with the Medical Board as this is unethical, against the oath a healthcare provider takes, and downright cruel treatment!

I was a patient of Dr. Smith and nurse practitioner Jennifer Friedman (Colemam) for many years and I've had both excellent and horrible experiences with this office and staff regarding how patients are treated. Some of the staff in reception are consistently kind and remember things about you and chat with you while waiting to be seen in the waiting room or while getting your vitals taken by a nurse. That can't be said about the nurse practitioner and a few nurses. Dr. Smith tries to understand what your medical needs are but his staff and referrals are bringing his practice down. I was told by the nurse practitioner I was a diabetic out of the blue one visit, handed a blood glucose meter, and then she wished me good luck and that she'll see me in three months. No instructions, no referrals to a dietitian or endocrinologist, when to test, nothing. She did a home visit once with her small daughter in tow and a nurse. As they were all leaving my home, the nurse practitioner whispered loudly to the nurse, "I told you so" and they both laughed before they even stepped off my porch. I never said a word about that but switched to see Dr. Smith instead. Dr. Smith set me up on a referral with an orthopedic specialist on a video appointment. It was done at his office and he peeked in a few times. I believe the specialist was his wife so when she ended up being beyond rude to the point of rolling her eyes, repeating things when I asked her to explain, and completely dismissed me. If Dr. Smith ever reads this, the culprit causing agonizing pain was polycythemia vera, a pinched nerve where my herniated disc was, and an enlarged spleen, not a foot that I'd never had problems with. After being dismissed so readily by the specialist, I never went back. When I did bring up health concerns to the nurse practitioner, I was either ignored or told to fix the problem myself. The level of care by everyone but Dr. Smith are sub par and I hopes he clears out the people who genuinely don't care. They act as if they are not concerned about you as a person: emotionally, mentally and physically. If you need to get in quickly, the receptionist Bonnie will do whatever she can to get you seen immediately and only deal with Dr. Smith.

From the front desk staff to Dr Smith I was treated with compassion, dignity,
politeness and laughter. It was so refreshing!!! Dr Smith listened to my concerns, answered my questions and respected my choices of care!
And, I wasn’t rushed. The visit lasted close to an hour. I had the honor of having Denise, one of the medical assistants, due the initial intake. She was a breath of fresh air. I also had the delight to interact with Bonnie at the front desk over a few weeks to get the whole process started. She is efficient with a very friendly demeanor. Thank you so much

I live in Clearwater and drive to his office in St. Pete for a reason...Dr. Smith is worth the ride. This is one smart and caring doctor. The entire office and staff is like a well-oiled machine and everyone is running in sync. Now if I could only find a dentist I respected this much! lol.

You feel like family when you go here, everyone does their job swiftly and pleasantly, friendly. I called in before opening and Crista called me back pronto and got me in, Jen super helpful, got my meds to pharmacy and I received shots in the office to hold me over till I picked up meds and they got me on the mend saving me a huge hassle of having to go to an emergency room so it was just 5 stars all the way! Highly recommend

Had my first appt in the office today with the NP Jen. She was awesome! Also Tiffany was incredible! Everyone was so kind and accommodating. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.
