This tiny neighborhood store is a reminder of simpler days and is well worth a visit. As you enter the store, before you start adding things to your cart, take a few minutes and look around. Groppi is an experience and a great store, from the produce section to the butcher shop in the back. And, of course, you can't skip the wine bar, swing the counternwith all the panini and pick one up. They are truly amazing

This is a must-see. If you are a foodie, then this is the mecca! Bring a large cooler and plenty of space in your vehicle. The building is HUGE, and the bakery, hot food bar, cold salads, meat counter, and bread choices are AMAZING! You need to plan to stay to look around and all the items they offer. There is outdoor seating to enjoy the food you have purchased. They will cut fresh meats and cheeses to order.

I hate having to post this, because I used to love Groppi's, and have gone here since I was a kid (I'm 62 now). I still like the food, even though it's lost some of it's quality over the years and the prices have gone crazy. I know, it's everywhere.
I went in last week and had the worst experience I've ever had. The attitudes of the employees were terrible, like I was inconveniencing them by being in there. Flat, blank-eyed expressions, scowls, single word responses from all of them. I was not made to feel welcome at all. I would have said something at the time, but who would I tell if ALL had the same attitude?
Next time, I'll run across the Hoan and go up to that place on Brady Street

My company delivers to G. Groppi food market twice a week, today was my first time delivering there. After the delivery, I bought a roast beef wrap, marinated mozzarella, and a chorizo breakfast burrito... I was amazed at how awesome the burrito was. The eggs were tender and flavorful, and the chorizo was incredible. Prices are incredibly reasonable, and the burritos are huge. Don't take my word for it, stop in and say hi to Marty and try the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito.

Honestly as far as I’m concerned Groppi should be considered a Milwaukee tourist attraction!! It’s like walking in a maze and every turn of a corner holds a new surprise! I’m literally addicted to it and stop by and shop here daily whenever I visit my daughter from the west coast!! Love love love the selection especially the meats and produce, even though it took me a couple of visits before I even realized they had a full service butcher shop hidden all the way in the back of the store.

Something is wrong with whoever sets some of the prices at their deli. Some of the food is good and decent priced but some is outrageous. I came in tonight and they had some old dry fried shrimp and cod, and it was $18.99 a pound. Bro that's more expensive than if you bought it fresh at a restaurant. What are you guys smoking?

Cute grocery store in Bay View with the best panini I’ve ever had! I couldn’t even take a pic because it looked so good. The crunchy bread was the best part! I will obviously be back!
