This is my honest review. Shannon and Avalon Properties can be rough around the edges BUT most and more importantly she and the company genuinely care. Shannon always has the clients best interest in mind. If you work with her she is willing to work with you. If there is a property you love, do not let any negative review sway you away from working with Avalon. They do an excellent job, which I will say is not an easy one!

My experience was quite unsettling. I am a new resident and you would figure the complex would be great for the high prices they charge but the appliances are outdated (Amana) brand. The hallways are stained very filthy and bad smell . Maintenance should concentrate on at least power washing the dirt of each floor. I regret moving in here and now have to wait a while to get out of this apartment complex.

Have nothing but great things to say about Avalon Properties, particularly, Shannon. Renting/signing was a breeze and a simple process. The few problems that have come up were dealt with promptly and in a professional manner by her. In one instance Shannon even drove out to the property with one of her maintenance men in a snowstorm to help with an issue. She's down to earth, easy to communicate with, and I've found her to be a good person.

Very dishonest. Gave Shannon 3 application fees and only two applications. She kept saying they hadn't received our credit/background checks, then, after 11 days, said the owner had decided NOT to rent. Shortly thereafter, TWO apartment complexes approved us, so I'm positive it wasn't our credit. They not only didn't return our two application fees, which should have been done as the owner chose to not rent the property out before receiving our reports, but also didn't return the unused third application fee. Steer clear of any property managed by this company. Believe me, no matter how desirable the property may be, dealing with a dishonest, unresponsive management company takes the shine off very quickly.

Avalon Properties has always gone above and beyond to take care of my needs as a tenant. Specifically, Shannon, the manager of my property, has always been available to me to address any concerns or questions I may have regarding my rental. I am thankful to be a long-term tenant through Avalon and appreciate that they value me as a person as well as a tenant!

Before Avalon we had an unreasonable, and downright sketchy realty group. Avalon became our property managers and things really took a positive turn. They didn't raise our rent despite the local gentrification trends, they always respected our privacy, and though I had to send more than one maintenance request on one occasion for the same fix, any problem would always be taken care of within 24 hours.
Our rental property was bought out, Avalon had no part in the deal and they STILL manage to be a more reliable source of help and information in assisting us with our next steps. We really appreciate them taking the time and being honest with us, and if possible we'd like to continue doing business with them in the future.
These are peoples' homes, peoples' lives, and they've always treated us like human beings, not dollars and cents. Thank you for helping us.

I simply cannot say enough good about how professionally I was treated by my agent at Avalon Properties. My agent worked around my work schedule from the start to the lease signing appointment. The home has been very well taken care of and always maintained to keep it that way. I am so excited for our new home I love Avalon Properties Inc. and Shannon Kowalski, my agent. I'm Soo happy!! You will be too!!
