I really liked this place. It’s tad outside of Grand Rapids but they use real food to get their flavors. No artificial stuff and you can tell. The favors are unique. I got the Raspberry Chip I believe it was called it was so good. The waffle cones are also some of the best I’ve ever had.

Staff was friendly and the ice cream was excellent. Got the regular size which was 3 scoops. Most rememberable was the pretzel logic as it was the perfect blend of salty and sweet.

We popped in here for a little ice cream after the brewery, and we had the incredible pleasure of getting to meet and chat with Barry himself! He went above and beyond in showing us the flavors, giving us backstory on the natural ingredients and processes he's developed to create some of the best frozen desserts in West Michigan. This should be your go-to spot if you need an ice cream fix - best around hands down!

Barry G's is hands-down the best ice cream shop in Grand Rapids and arguably the best in the state of Michigan! Our whole family loves this place! Barry is a perfectionist making delicious, authentic creations!
We are in the pre-Christmas season, and were able to sample: Rum Raisin (the best!), Ginger Snap(Amazing!), Egg Nog (Yumm!), Bananas foster (Great) and Mayan Chocolate (wow! great!), and the old stand-by Salted Oreo (always great!). We walked out with ice Cream for our Christmas guests. Great service from Aubrey, and fun conversation with Barry G, as always! I know I can find ice cream cheaper, but Barry G's is my treat to myself!

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place while on our evening drive. It was an absolute pleasure being able to order a flight of all the different kinds of ice cream (I can never settle on just one) and there was not a single flavor I disliked. This has to be some of the best ice cream I’ve had and it’s absolutely worth stopping in at. The owner is incredibly kind and the treats are delicious. We will absolutely be back 😊

First and foremost, the boutique style ice cream that you get from here is beyond worth the price (which is not expensive by any means), just goes to show the value of coming here for a tasty treat! Don’t let the quality of the ice cream take away from the absolute star-studded slew of Italian Ices you can get here. Not well known as a dessert here in the Midwest, the Italian ice here deserves a it’s on podium for how darn good it is. It is truly a must try if you’re an ice cream lover because it satisfies that craving a a special and unique way that traditional ice cream just can’t do.

Second, Gregg works diligently to provide new items for the community like his ice cream sandwiches (new item, limited runs). I know he has worked hard meticulously perfecting the cookie part of the sandwich which both types I have tried contain a satisfying, chewy, and perfectly soft cookie to withstand the absolutely thick portion of ice cream stuffed between both cookies. If you are in with the fam, grab one or two to take home (when they are available) because they will go beyond on satisfying that midnight craving for something sweet. Don’t worry, if he doesn’t have them, it’s because he makes them by hand himself, so they are extra special (like pretty much everything he offers).

Lastly, he is commonly rotating flavors to keep you coming back for more. He truly does use top of the line ingredients and he has a true passion for sweets. Whether it is 90 or 30 degrees, his sweet delicacies are sure to bring a smile to your soul.
